Input nay be taken from the plate oe the P. A. stage or direct, from 70-ohn co -ax
feeder from aerial. Although a rnisuatch is indicated when connected straight fssm
to -bhe feeder, I find'it, gives best results in ay particular case. ( Also the
applied voltage is nuch lower. ) .
T1 is a 240'/ 6 o3'V filar.ien-fc transforner - a speaker output, transforaer is just the
thing - 5000 / 3 olins works out near enough o ,
The gain from this circuit. is .quite siibstantial on 3. 5 and 7 ac/s and quite-good on
14nc/s also. It has no-fc 'been -tried on hisheB frequencies* .
All S/R svatches allow a snail aaount of RF feedthrough - the voltage, neasured on
open oir.cui-t oatput. was .2-.volts. This is of no conse<iuencG provided .the first R. F,
stage in the coceiver has its grid capacity coupled to -the R, F, tune-d; circuit and
the grid Mas, resistor earthed - or if A»V. C. is used - the botton of-the grid
resistor. goes to. A. VoC. line instead of earth. In bo-th those cases tho value of the
grid resistor is 1 r-ieg.
