From the VK7 WIA news broadcast 27/1/2002

It is with regret that we announce the passing last Thursday
of Geoff D'Emden, who for many years held the callsign
VK7ZAS. He was 75. Those who were in the original VHF
group within the WIA in Hobart back in the 50s and early
60s would remember him well. Others would have known
him through his employment, firstly with the tramways in
Hobart and then with the late Barney Watson, at Watson's
Wireless. Geoff specialised in Public Address installations,
and attended to the technical side of the PA at such events
as Baskerville raceway and the Royal Hobart Regatta. Geoff
retired some years ago and most recently lived at Carlton.
Our condolences are extended to his family and friends.

His funeral will be held at Mornington at 11 AM tomorrow,
Monday 28th.
