                              PRESIDENTiS RI5PORT

Fellow Members,
Another year has passed in which we have all become so much
older and I hope so much wiser*
Our Institute has experienced another successful year in
which the most important function was the filling of our I. T, U. fund
commi-ttment. Other equally important considerations such as
membership, individual interest and disposals were also maintained.
A vote of thanlcs'to the lecture supervisor and disposals committee
is recorded here. - ............

MEMBERSHIP;
Again the usual bogey was evident, namely» the member who does
not like parting with his subscription. As is the usual procedure
certain names were removed from the register permanently, while
others were removed only to be reinstated after payment of dues»
This causes a lot of uimecessary"work and could be prevented if
subscriptions were paid promptly. At the moment our membership
stands at 205, a gain of 5 members over this time last year. The
roll comprises:- 5 Life Members, 121 Full Members, 72 Associates and
7 Studen-fc-members.
At monthly meetings our average attendance at Headquarters
has been 28 members, which is less than last year, but still
satisfactory. •'

COUNCIL:
Your council has again performed its function properly and
efficiently with due regard for all members., Of the 11 meetxngs
held thus far attendances have been - Alien (lO), Beard (ll)>
Connor (lO), Dore (lO); D'Emden (10), Nichols (10), Spiegel (ll),
Cruise (?)'(ex officio). Following the resignation of C. Harrison
due to transfer, your council elected "Tiny" Dore to the position
of Treasurer and have been rewarded by a job well. done. Thaxiks
Tiny.

Q. S. L* BUREAU:
Cards in - l624, Cards out - 1968. Another year of
praiswor-fchy effort. Thanks Jack*
Jack's comments were that these figures are lower than last
year indicating less activity or operators have reduced QSLing»

S. W. L. GROUP?
         Still in retirement.•

V. H. F. GROUP:
Activity here has been quite good on 2 and a certain amount
of "DK" was heard and contacted this year on 6 metres as is indicated
by the VK2, 3, 4 and 5 cards which have been handed out.

                                                                      cont
